Steam supply system

Plans to construct an HTGR for steam supply and an experimental HTGR with a reactor outlet coolant temperature (available heat temperature) of 750ÂșC for utilization as a heat source for power generation and chemical plants are underway in the Republic of Poland. The Republic of Poland has taken an active stance to introduce Japan's advanced HTGR technology, which has been cultivated through the High Temperature Engineering Test Reactor (HTTR) program; therefore, JAEA has been promoting R&D cooperation in the field of HTGR technology with National Center for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) of the Republic of Poland since FY 2019. In addition, JAEA and Japanese private companies have been developing design, and evaluating safety and economic efficiency of the HTGR for steam supply and the experimental HTGR, which are expected to be constructed in the Republic of Poland.
