Design study on HTGRs for steam supply to be used for steam turbine power generation and as a heat source for chemical plants is currently conducted. In addition, a conceptual design of a high-efficiency power generation system that combines a gas turbine and an HTGR has been completed, as well as design research on an HTGR system that can simultaneously generate high-efficiency power and produce hydrogen without emitting carbon dioxide is also conducted.
