Demonstration Test Plan for HTTR-GT/H2 Plantn

HTTR has demonstrated the capability of supplying high temperature heat of 950°C stably in the past operation. Based on the achievement, we are planning world' first demonstration of nuclear hydrogen electricity cogeneration by coupling helium gas turbine and H2 production plant to the HTTR. We aim to demonstrate the system technologies for HTGR heat application system and formulate safety requirements through licensing review of coupling chemical plant to the HTTR by Nuclear Regulation Authority. We have conducted a system design and component design of the HTTR-GT/H2 test plant for 2 years from FY2015. As a result of the design, system configuration and major specifications of the test plant with power output 1MWe and H2 production rate 30Nm3/h were determined. In addition, we performed preliminary safety analysis to ensure reactor safety during abnormal events in the heat application system.
