Evaporation/Bituminization

Summary of the Evaporation System / Bituminization System

Liquid waste (categories B-1and B-2) is sent to the Waste Treatment Facility No.2 using effluent transport containers and stored in the liquid waste storage tank. The liquid waste is then evaporated using the evaporator-II after the pretreatment for pH adjustment, etc.
Moisture in the concentrate is evaporated in the bituminization mixing evaporator by mixing it with heated bitumen. As a result, the concentrate is converted into a solid compound (product) with the bitumen.
On the other hand, the condensate generated during evaporation and bituminization is released to the environment after confirming that the radioactivity levels are below the release limits.
