We have been operating and maintaining JRR-3, JRR-4, NSRR, and Tandem Accelerator and have been promoting R & D programs to improve their performance.
JRR-3
(Japan Research Reactor-3 )
JRR-3 is a research reactor with a thermal power of 20 MW, which has been contributing to neutron beam experiments and irradiation experiments.
JRR-4
(Japan Research Reactor-4 )
JRR-4 is also a research reactor with a thermal power of 3.5 MW, which has been contributing to medical irradiation (BNCT), activation analysis, and education and training for nuclear engineers.
NSRR
(Nuclear Safety Research Reactor)
NSRR is an exclusive research reactor, which has been contributing to nuclear fuel safety research.
Tandem Accelerator &
Tandem Booster
Tandem Accelerator uses an electric field to accelerate charged particles to a high velocity. Heavy ion research in the fields of nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, and materials science are performed at this facility.
