Ex-vessel Irradiation Rig (Online Irradiation Rig)

The Ex-vessel Irradiation Rig (EXIR) is an instrumented irradiation rig for the performance of irradiation tests of reactor structural materials by utilizing the space between the reactor and safety vessels.
It can apply an arbitrary load to a test piece by pressurized gas and maintain the test temperature within a wide range at 200°C or above by electric heater.
In addition, the most significant feature is that no influence is exerted on the reactor operation because the irradiation test is performed outside the core.
