International Affairs Department

 International cooperation with nuclear energy institutions overseas is indispensable to promote our research and development activities effectively.
The International Affairs Department works with its three overseas offices in planning and management of international cooperation with foreign organizations on nuclear energy research and development. The International administration section arranges cooperation arrangements and negotiates with foreign organizations.
Another important role of the International administration section is to promote the support for regional research and development activities including active exchange of researchers and training of personnel, especially for the Asian region, in order to promote safe and peaceful utilization of nuclear energy technology.
The International Affairs Department consists of the office located in Tokyo, and International administration section in Tokai head office, and three overseas offices in Washington (USA), Paris (France) and Vienna (Austria).
