JAEA Paris Office is involved in coordinating arrangements between JAEA and European organizations. In addition, we are engaged in gathering, analyzing and distributing information, and supporting JAEA staff who come to France on business. France, same as Japan, has a nuclear fuel cycle policy, and has been actively engaging R&D of nuclear energy from basic research level to practical use level. We, therefore, strongly support promoting Japan-France cooperation in various fields, such as fast reactor and nuclear waste processing. We collect the information about up-to-date energy policies of France and other Western European countries, and other firsthand information that is not available from websites. Based on the cooperation arrangements, many JAEA staff are working in European research institutions and international organizations such as Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA). Supporting these staff is also our important task.
