Researcher: 1 person
Recruitment theme
Theme: “Experimental research for evaluation of long-term behavior of spent nuclear fuel under geological repository condition”
Research Group for Radiochemistry has begun to study geological repository systems for high-level radioactive waste. The current research theme focuses on the dissolution dynamics of uranium oxides and related materials in contact with water, and plan to implement a series of experimental work to understand the chemical mechanism of the dissolution by using spectroscopic techniques for surface/interface analysis.
This subject will be conducted as a part of “Project on Research and Development of Spent Fuel Direct Disposal as an Alternative Disposal Option” funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan.
