    1. Number of employees

      Researcher a few persons

    2. Recruitment Field

      (1)Research field:
①Development of analytical technique and evaluation method for characterization of fuel debris
②Development of radioactive waste management technology for decommissioning power reactor site
③Research on work space information creation technology based on intelligent computation and information processing for remote operation support
      (2)Research theme
①In order to safely and steadily promote tasks, such as fuel debris retrieval, storage, transfer, and storage, is necessary not only sufficiently to understand the properties of fuel debris required for work reviews, but also estimate the conditions inside the reactor, for the decommissioning of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (1F).
The main contents of this work are development of analytical technology, basic research using simulated fuel debris, actual analysis of 1F fuel debris, and development of analysis method using test results of 1F fuel debris.
In this recruitment, we are seeking for person who can promote research and development for analysis technology of fuel debris including actual sample analysis of sediment etc., research of generation and migration of radioactive fine particles, and estimation of internal situation of 1F reactor core based on the fuel debris analysis results.
In particular, we would like to have specialized knowledge in the handling of radioactive materials, material synthesis / solid chemistry and analytical chemistry, which are indispensable for research on fuel debris.
In the future, An active role in organizing the research team and leading research using external funds will be expected.
Therefore, it is desirable to have practical management such as joint research with the outside, experience in teaching younger generations, and communication skills in foreign languages including English.
②CLADS has been conducting research and development of waste management technologies for decommissioning of 1F along with based on the national mid- and long-term roadmap. In order to realize rational technologies, related fields, namely, characterization, safe storage, processing and disposal, shall be effectively combined through their optimization, and the methodology itself should be developed.
Therefore, in this call for recruitment, we are looking for a research staff who will contribute to solve the problem of system optimization composed of many elemetns for waste management with consideration on its science, engineering and social aspects, as well as to support practical management of research and development activities.
③JAEA has been conducting research and development of operation support technologies and systems to promote safe and steady remote control operations in decommissioning work.
As part of this effort, we are currently developing technologies for generating and presenting workspace information that contributes to operation support based on sensor data acquired at remote work space.

Safe and steady promotion of remote operation work depends on the ability of operators to accurately recognize and estimate the work space condition based on sensor data acquired remotely. However, spatial recognition is difficult with conventional operation systems that only present sensor data acquired at the work site, and requires sufficient prior proficiency training. Therefore, in order to improve spatial recognition ability, there is an urgent need to promote research and development of technology that makes maximum use of sensor data acquired in the decommissioning site, extracts information related to the state of the workspace, and provides it in a format that can be easily referred to by the operator.
Therefore, in this call for recruitment, we are looking for a research staff who will proactively promote the research and development of technologies and systems to generate highly accurate structural identification and three-dimensional structural reconstruction information based on advanced intelligent information processing approaches, such as deep learning and optimization computation, on large-scale, high-density 3D point cloud data and image data obtained remotely at decommissioning work space, and to utilize the results for on-demand and interactive presentation of workspace information in a virtual space.
