Outline of Fugen Decommissioning Plan

After the operation was terminated on March 29, 2003, Fugen proceeded with the formulation of a decommissioning plan and technological development in preparation for decommissioning.
In May 2005, we applied for approval of the decommissioning plan based on the laws and regulations of Japan, and on February 12, 2008, we obtained approval from the government and started decommissioning.

"Decommissioning" means removing radiation from a nuclear power plant that has completed its mission and safely dismantling it. The decommissioning of Fugen is a plan to proceed with dismantling facilities safely and rationally, in accordance with the laws and regulations of Japan, while considering the conditions for facilities that require maintenance even after the end of operation.

In addition, the technologies developed for decommissioning and the results obtained through the decommissioning work will be actively disclosed so that they can be effectively utilized in the decommissioning of other nuclear facilities.
