ACHIEVEMENTS IN DEVELOPMENT(2)

	■Component Tests The performance and durability of fuel assemblies, pressure tube assemblies and seal plugs were demonstrated by the long-term cycle thermal examinations implemented for several years at component test loop. Around 1970's, development of pressure tube monitoring equipments and out-pile demonstration examinations were added.

		■Safety Tests Fugen's safety design was demonstrated by the mock-up examination simulating rupture of reactor cooling system piping, ECCS (Emergency Core Cooling System) tests and examination on the thermal behavior of fuel assemblies. In addition, reflecting the safety design trend at that time, development of pipe rupture detection system and heat removal　examination on ballooning fuel
		(bulging　phenomena of cladding tube when pipe rupture accident occurs) were implemented. Appearance of a fuel assembly when ECCS does not work.→
