    2. Recruitment theme: Research on the development of innovative technology for fast reactor fuels

For the purpose of development of innovative technologies on fast reactor fuels, research on the measurements at high temperature, modelling and perfmance evaluation are carried out in Plutonium Fuel Development Center. Unirradiated MOX (mixed oxide) fuels have been researched so far; evaluating the effects of irradiation with mechanistic models is the future task.
In this theme, the applicant is expected to research on the fuel properties at high temperature including the effects of fission products/restructuring to evaluate the fuel behaviors at transient and nominal condisions as the next step of fuel research which has been focused on the unirradiated fuels. In particular, mechanistic analyses on the fuel properties together with those of published irradiated fuels and the development of models for the fuel properties and irradiation behaviors are expected.
