Development of thermodynamic database for analysis of core degradation.
Retrieval of fuel debris has been under planning at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. Essential item is advanced understanding of situations at a bottom of reactor vessel or a bottom of pedestal, in which fuel debris has accumulated after the accident. Precious thermodynamic data are necessary to analyze accident progression more preciously. In this research program, the researcher is expected to develop thermodynamic database of multi component systems available for analysis of accident progression.

Salary commensurate with the applicant’s work experience, Social Insurance, Commutation allowance, partial housing allowance. Dormitory is also available.
Terms of employment
Contract term: One year
(The contract term can be extended up to five years upon annual evaluation of research achievements.)
Should you achieve outstanding results during your temporary employment, you could be offered a position as a tenured reseacher.

Qualification requirements
(1) Ph.D.degree. In principle, having work experience for more than one year as a full-time teacher, a full-time researcher, or a post-doctoral fellow.
(2) It is requested that the applicant has abundant knowledge and experimental experience on materials science studiesof fuel cladding or fuel assembly components. Preferably having experience and knowledge of research on severe accident progression for nuclear power plants.

2. Send the letter by mail from the recommender directly to the JAEA official (see Article 20.), or
3. Send a pdf file, containing the text and hand-written signature, by e-mail from the recommender directly to the JAEA official (see Article).
