Recruitment field
“Experimental study on conversion between spin current and liquid dynamics”
A successful candidate will work on experimental studies of conversion between the spin current and liquid dynamics such as flow of liquid metal. The spin current generation by the flow of liquid metal has been observed by Spin-energy Transformation Science Group. To extend it to application and to another research field, the candidate will study correlation between various type of liquid dynamics and the spin current generation, not only qualitatively but also quantitatively. The project aims to realize the conversion between spin current and liquid dynamics. The research will be performed under supervision of Dr. Eiji Saitoh, the leader of ERATO project “Spin Quantum Rectification”, to create a new field where the fluid dynamics will be integrated into spintronics via spin-rotation coupling. Expected is a motivated and ambitious researcher with Ph. D in physics or related subjects. The candidate should have a background in the nuclear magnetic resonance as well as experimental techniques of transport measurements.
