      Theme: “Experimental study of phi meson mass inside nuclei with a proton beam at J-PARC”
      Conduct a study entitled “A study of the  meson mass generation mechanism in K-meson pair decays inside nuclei with polarizations and dispersion relations” (PI: Hiroyuki Sako), funded by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (S) in Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Specifically, the candidate will take a major role in developing and producing detectors, and carrying out the experiment to study phi meson decay into K-meson pair in proton-nucleus collisions at J-PARC (E88).

    5. Contract

      from September 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
      The contract period can be renewed, and the total contract period is a maximum of 3 years (the maximum up to August 31, 2028) depending upon the annual review of the research progress at the end of each fiscal year.

    6. Terms of employment

      (1) Salary: Approximately JY500,000 per month (including social insurance fee and tax)
      * Note that the salary may be changed.

      (2) Allowance: Commutation and housing allowances are paid according to the employees.

      (3) Working Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. (Discretionary labor system is applicable.)

      (4) Intermission: 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

      (5) Holiday: Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays, year-end holidays, paid holidays.

      (6) Social Insurance, etc.: Health insurance, welfare pension insurance, corporate pension fund, employment insurance, workers' accident compensation insurance.

      (7) Welfare: Family resident and dormitory are available.

      (8) A trial employment period (6 months) is considered.

    7. Qualification requirements

      (1) Having a PhD degree at the start date of the contract, but not exceeding 8 years after taking PhD. Candidates are expected to have the desire and ability to promote the nuclear reaction theory.

      (2) Applicants are expected to have enough knowledge and experience in experimental nuclear or hadron physics and the development of particle detectors.

      (3) Applicants are expected to have experiences for radiation works.

      (4) One or two letters of recommendation (the format is free), signed by the evaluator. It is recommended that one of the evaluators be the candidate’s supervisor. JAEA staff cannot be evaluators.

    11. Application screening

      Applicants will be screened based on their submitted documents. The screening result will be notified to the applicants by e-mail. Note that application documents will not be returned.

      The result of the recruitment examination will be notified as soon as possible after the recruitment examination.

    17. Travel Expenses

      Travel expenses for the recruitment examination will be reimbursed by bank transfer in accordance with JAEA regulations. JAEA will only cover the actual travel expenses within Japan. Detailed information will be provided to the applicants.

    19. Points to note

      (1) The successful applicant will be required to submit a medical certificate in English taken within 6 months (including height, weight, eyesight, urinalysis, chest X-ray).

      (2) The successful applicant, who is not a Japanese National, will be required to obtain the necessary visa status to work in Japan by the date of adoption.

      The personal information submitted will be used for recruitment purposes only. Employees’ personal information will be used for employment control. Other personal information will be destroyed 1 year after submission.
