Recruitment Field
Research and development for evaluation methods that can simultaneously predict weld residual stress and hardness
(Summary)
The Nuclear Safety Research Centre is engaged in research and development related to failure evaluation methods including crack propagation and fracture, weld residual stress evaluation methods, and fracture evaluation methods considering the high temperature and nonlinear properties of materials, through numerical analysis, material testing, fracture testing, etc., targeting reactor pressure vessels, piping, etc., which are important for safety. In this theme, research and development for evaluation methods that can simultaneously predict weld residual stress and hardness in welded joints of the reactor pressure vessel will be conducted through heat-transfer analysis and structural analysis.
