Research on neutron-based characteristic evaluation technology for lithium-ion batteries
(Summary)
As part of the research on neutron-based characteristic evaluation technology for lithium-ion batteries that the J-PARC Center has been conducting since FY2019 in collaboration with Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc., we will carry out research and development using the intense pulsed neutron beam at the Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility at J-PARC. The research theme is the study of the manufacturing process of lithium-ion batteries by small-angle neutron scattering and neutron reflectometry. The theme also includes the development of evaluation technologies necessary for this research.

Contract
From April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026
Based on evaluations, an individual who shows significant performance may have their contracts renewed annually, contingent on continued funding from Toyota Central R&D Labs.. In this case, the contract can be extended until March 31, 2028.
Qualification requirements
(1) Having a PhD degree at starting date of contract, but not exceed 8 years after taking PhD. Candidates are expected to have the desire and ability to research on neutron-based characteristic evaluation technology for lithium-ion batteries.
(2) It does not matter whether or not you have research experience related to the recruitment field.
Terms of employment
(1) Salary: Approximately JPY500,000 per month (including social insurance fee and tax)
(2) Allowance: Commutation and housing allowances are paid according to employees.
(3) Working Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. (Discretionary labor system is applicable.)
(4) Intermission: 12:00pm-1:00pm
(5) Holiday: Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays, year-end holidays, paid holidays.
(6) Social Insurance, etc.: Health insurance, welfare pension insurance, corporate pension fund, employment insurance, workers accident compensation insurance.
(7) Welfare: Family resident and dormitory are available.
(8) Trial employment period (6 months) is considered.

Points to note
(1) The successful applicant will be required to submit a medical certificate in English taken within 6 months (including height, weight, eyesight, urinalysis, chest X-ray).
(2) The successful applicant, who is not a Japanese National, will be required to obtain the necessary visa status to work in Japan by the date of adoption.
