    3. Recruitment field

Research Theme: Study on Leaching Behavior of Uranium and Other Compounds from Buried Materials at Open-pit Mine Site
The Ningyo-toge Environmental Engineering Center is currently working on the environmental rehabilitation project of the uranium mine which has been closed down. It is very important to elucidate the factors that control the behavior of radioactive materials in the recharge area of the Ningyo-toge basin in order to carry out the environmental recovery project of the uranium mine safely and efficiently.
In the accumulation well at the former open-pit mine site, uranium and radium have been detected at higher concentrations than upstream, although they are below the standard values.
In order to elucidate the leaching behavior of uranium and other element from buried materials in the open-pit mining site and the behavior of uranium and other minerals in the downstream area,In this study, the physical and chemical forms of uranium and other element leached from the buried materials in the open-pit mining site will be clarified by analysis of boring samples, leaching experiments and physicochemical state analysis of uranium and other minerals in groundwater.
