      Research on the dynamics of microplastics in the environment
      (Summary)
      In recent years, global environmental pollution caused by plastic waste has become a major problem. Particularly, the impact of microplastics on the environment and living organisms is a big concern. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the dynamics of microplastics in the environment.
      In this theme, we will utilize various analytical techniques, such as isotope analysis, developed at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency, to conduct research on the interactions between microplastics and organic matter, microorganisms, chemical substances, radioactive materials, etc. Furthermore, we aim to elucidate the process of microplastics migration from land to ocean by integrating this research with numerical simulation models.

    5. Qualification requirements

      (1) Having a doctoral degree in the field related to the research theme.
      *This includes working professionals who are currently enrolled in a doctoral program and are expected to get a doctoral degree by the date of employment.

    6. Terms of employment

      (1) Place of assignment
      (Domestic) Ibaraki, Fukushima, Chiba, Tokyo, Fukui, Hyogo, Hokkaido, Gifu, Okayama, Aomori
      (Overseas) Washington, Paris, Vienna

      (2) Holidays
      Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), National holidays, Year-end and new-year holidays, Paid holidays, etc.

      (3) Social insurance
      Health insurance, Welfare pension insurance, Employee’s pension fund, Unemployment insurance, Workers accident compensation insurance, etc.

      (4) Housing
      Dormitory for family and singles

      (5) Working hours
      9:00am-5:30pm (overtime work is required in needs)
      *1 According to work place, working hours would differ.
      *2 In some department, shift working is required.
      *3 Flextime system and discretionary work system are adopted partly.

      (6) Salary (For example)
      ‐Basic salary is provided considering years of experience in accordance with the JAEA regulation.

      ‐Pay rise: Once a year in October

    10. Document examination

      Examinees will be decided based on the review of application documents. Review result will be informed by a letter. Application documents will not be returned.
