Research field
(1)Research field:
Material research based on synchrotron radiation
(2)Research theme
Development of functional hydrogen materials using high-brilliance synchrotron radiation
(Summary)
The Materials Sciences Research Center of the Nuclear Science Research Institute promotes the development and upgrading of synchrotron radiation experimental instruments installed at BL22XU and BL23SU of SPring-8, and also promotes material science that can contribute to the implementation in society by using the instruments.
Main research theme is the study of functional hydrogen materials with application of the synchrotron radiation techniques. Especially, understanding the interaction between materials and hydrogen using soft/hard X-ray photoemission spectroscopy and scanning transmission/fluorescence X-ray microscopy will be desired. The thema also involves upgrading experimental equipment, such as constructing in situ observation environment, and developing data analysis techniques from a new viewpoint for utilizing big X-ray data. We are looking for highly-motivated researcher who can pioneer a wide range of research field including industrial use through support for synchrotron users.
