(Summary)
The Japan Atomic Energy Agency (hereinafter referred to as "JAEA") undertakes integrated support for nuclear nonproliferation, nuclear security, nuclear human resource development, leveraging its extensive knowledge, experience, and technological expertise to contribute to the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
This position focuses on the development of technologies applicable to nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security, including nuclear detection and measurement technologies, nuclear forensics, and technical cooperation with the CTBTO verification regime. Specific responsibilities include the development of active neutron measurement technologies, wide-area monitoring systems, and gamma-ray/neutron measurement and imaging techniques for initial response to nuclear security incidents. The role also involves simulation analysis and system development related to neutron and gamma-ray detectors, collaboration in the operation of the CTBTO International Monitoring System, and the implementation and management of R&D programs and projects in the field of nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security.
As this is a permanent staff position, the successful candidate may, depending on their aptitude and the needs of organization, be assigned other duties and/or reassigned to other departments in the future.

Qualifications and requirements
(1) A doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D. in Science or Engineering)
(2) A solid understanding of nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security, along with experience in the development and application of radiation measurement technologies, such as neutron and gamma-ray detection
(3) Proven experience in technical development and collaboration within an international environment
