      Strongly Correlated Actinide Materials Science
      (Summary)
      The Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) explores the frontiers of nuclear science, discovers new principles and phenomena of matter, develops new materials, and creates innovative technologies. With a focus on actinide compounds, the ASRC promotes fundamental research into the elucidation of novel magnetism and superconductivity, which are created by strongly correlated electrons and their applications. In particular, the research themes and tasks include the combination of single-crystal microfabrication techniques using focused ion beams and precision physical property measurement techniques, and the development of new research areas through the fusion of the spintronics and actinide fields. We are recruiting a researcher equivalent to an associate professor with an appropriate background and sufficient competence to carry out experimental research on the above-mentioned themes.

    5. Qualification Requirements

      (1) Associate professors or those with equivalent achievements at universities or research institutions.

      (2) Persons who have written three or more peer-reviewed primary-authored papers.

    6. Terms of Employment

      (1) Place of assignment
      (Inside Japan) Ibaraki, Fukushima, Chiba, Tokyo, Fukui, Hyogo, Hokkaido, Gifu, Okayama, Aomori
      (Outside Japan) Washington, Paris, Vienna

      (2) Holidays
      Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), National holidays, Year-end and new-year holidays, Paid holidays, etc.

      Health insurance, Welfare pension insurance, Employees’ pension fund, Unemployment insurance, Workers accident compensation insurance, etc.

      Dormitory for family and singles

      (5) Working hours
      9:00am-5:30pm (overtime work is required in needs)
      *1 According to workplaces, working hours would differ.
      *2 In some department, shift working is required.
      *3 Flextime system and discretionary work system are adopted partly.

      (6) Salary (For example)
      - Starting Salary (Ph.D.): 255,400yen/month (As of April 2018)  *Besides, taking into account the years of experience, salary is decided according to JAEA’s regulation
      -Allowances: Commutation allowance, Family allowance, House allowance, Research allowance, etc.
      -Pay raise: Once per year (depending on the previous year's performance)
      -Bonus: Twice per year (depending on the previous year's performance)

    19. Points to Note
