      (Summary)
      The Neutron Materials Research Division, Materials Science Research Center, Nuclear Science Research Institute, promotes the maintenance, development, and upgrading of diffractometers, small-angle scattering instruments, and imaging instruments owned by JAEA in the research reactor JRR-3, and promotes related materials science research that contributes to the implementation in society by using these instruments.

      (1) Having a Ph D. degree in the field related to the research theme

    6. Terms of employment

      (1) Place of assignment
      (Domestic) Ibaraki, Fukushima, Chiba, Tokyo, Fukui, Hyogo, Hokkaido, Gifu, Okayama, Aomori
      (Overseas) Washington, Paris, Vienna

      (2) Holidays
      Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), National holidays, Year-end and new-year holidays, Paid holidays, etc.

      (3) Social insurance
      Health insurance, Welfare pension insurance, Employee’s pension fund, Unemployment insurance, Workers accident compensation insurance, etc.

      Dormitory for family and singles

      (5) Working hours
      9:00am-5:30pm (overtime work is required in needs)

      (6) Salary (For example)
      -Basic salary is provided considering years of experience in accordance with the JAEA regulation.
      -Allowance/benefits: Commutation allowance, Overtime pay, Service area allowance, Dependent care allowance, Housing allowance, Allowance for technician/researcher/qualified operation chief
      -Pay rise: Once a year in October
      -Bonus: Twice a year in June and December

      Staff member of three-year career (age 25) with no dependents…
      JPY 4.5 million.
      Staff member of eight-year career (age 30) with no dependents… JPY 6 million.
      Staff member of 13-year career (age 35) with one dependent… JPY 7.25 million.

      Shown above are model annual incomes for a staff member who is a college graduate and lives in Ibaraki Prefecture that works 15hours overtime per month and is provided service area allowance, housing allowance and bonuses.

      *Researchers and engineers are provided allowance (JPY 19,000~33,800/month) according to the certified classes qualified by JAEA qualification system for engineering and research.

      After your submission through JREC-IN, we will check your application documents if they are acceptable or not. After that, your application status on JREC-IN will be changed to “Accepted” or “Non-acceptance”. When your status is changed, you will receive an E-mail notification about the change from JREC-IN automatically. The E-mail would not be sent as soon as you hand in, so please check your acceptance status after you get an E-mail notification.

      Examinees will be decided based on the review of application documents. Review result will be informed by a letter. Application documents will not be returned.

      We will pay travel expenses for the recruitment examination according to the JAEA’s provision.
