Electronic pipette system “Pipesuma” which can be controlled by general multi-joint robots to be launched on May 27!
— Liquids which require special care can be easily dispensed because this system is controlled externally and does not require human hand —
- [Summary of announcement]
-
- A tool called "micropipette" is used to dispense (suction/eject) only a small amount of liquids required such as reagents in tests and experiments in the fields of biotechnology and chemistry. There are manual and electronic pipettes.
- It was difficult to control a conventional micropipette with a commercial multi-joint robot, because it was designed to be operated by a human hand even if it is electronic. Especially, it is necessary for someone to manually press the button to eject a chip at the tip.
- Fujiwara Scientific Co., Ltd. developed a breakthrough electronic pipette system "Pipesuma" equipped with a function of externally setting the volume of dispensing through electrical signals and a mechanism of electrically ejecting chips under technological cooperation with JAEA.
- Since this system can be handled by a commercial multi-joint robot to automatically dispense liquids, it is expected to be applied for dispensing in a glove box or cell where it is difficult for humans to operate a robot or for automation of experiments.
- "Pipesuma" will be launched on May 27 (Mon), 2024.
