Fukui Branch of JAEA/NEAT participates in exercises of local governments in Fukui Prefecture and its neighboring prefectures, trains the concerned parties and guides a tour of facility visitors.
Nuclear emergency response exercises/drills participated by Fukui Branch are included in the table of participation results of "Emergency preparedness and support" page.
Every year, training courses on basic radiation knowledge and nuclear disaster prevention are held for Fukui Prefecture staff, municipal staff, staff of disaster-prevention agencies and students, respectively. In 2021, however, due to the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection, the training was basically cancelled, considering the safety of participants and lecturers as the first priority.
We dispatched lecturers/trainers to Fukui Prefecture and related municipalities, and gave lectures to their staff and students on nuclear emergency preparedness and response, such as basics on radiation, radiation measurement, etc. The training/lecture occasions are listed below.
