Since 2017, the NEAT has engaged in an entrusted project on “research, planning and implementation of human resources development for nuclear emergency” commissioned by the Nuclear Disaster Management Bureau, Cabinet Office of Japan.
The figure below shows the overview of this project.
In this project, we trialed and conducted training courses (core personnel training, emergency preparedness and response seminar) for the core staffs*1, through identifying and organizing skills required for nuclear emergency response and developing training programs.
In addition, we conducted training course (classroom lectures and exercises) for the practical staffs*2 to manage the site for screening of evacuees, and trialed training course (classroom lectures and fact-finding) for the practical staffs to respond to evacuation of residents by bus.
Through conducting above-mentioned activities, we contributed to the development of human resources for nuclear emergencies.
