     Restarted the reactor on the 27th of December, and reached rated power on the 29th of December.

November 15th On November 14th(local time 12:00), 2006, Joyo’s receipt of the "Nuclear Historic Landmark Award" was announced at the American Nuclear Society (ANS) 2006 winter meeting.
September 16th Started up the reactor for the MK-III core 4 duty cycle.
August 21th-24th The MK-III 3-2' special cycle was carried out as a short term irradiation test (irradiation time : 24 hours) of Minor Actinide (MA) doped MOX fuel.

June 3rd: JNC signed a contract with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) for the fabrication of components for irradiation rigs which could be used for materials testing in Joyo.

March 29th Joyo received the 37th AESJ award for its "Irradiation capability upgrading program for the experimental fast reactor Joyo MK-III project" by Atomic Energy Society of Japan.
