On November 14th (local time 12:00), 2006, Joyo's receipt of the "Nuclear
Historic Landmark Award" was announced at the American Nuclear Society
(ANS) 2006 winter meeting.
The ANS "Nuclear Historic Landmark Award" identifies and recognizes
sites and facilities where outstanding accomplishments that are instrumental
in the advancement and implementation of nuclear technology and in the
peaceful uses of nuclear energy have take place. Sites and facilities to
be nominated should have been in service at least 20 years before nomination.
