Number of employees
Researcher: 1 person
Recruitment theme
Theme: Study on the criticality characteristics of fuel debris
Japan Atomic Energy Agency will conduct a program sponsored by Nuclear Regulation Authority, Japan (NRA), which is entitled “Establishment of Criticality Evaluation Method on Fuel Debris Produced in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station of TEPCO”. In this program, Methods will be developed for clarification of criticality condition and of neutronic behavior during postulated criticality events. To achieve those goals, a method of criticality analysis will be developed and practiced
considering fuel debris composition whose distribution is not uniform but random. Candidates are expected, for the recruitment theme, by improving and using the new criticality analysis code SOLOMON that has been developed by JAEA in the program and is able to handle random composition distribution, to analyze criticality characteristics of fuel debris, and to study a consequence evaluation method for postulated criticality events.
(This work will be conducted as a part of the program on “Establishment of Criticality Evaluation Method on Fuel Debris Produced in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station of TEPCO”, which is supported by NRA.)
