(Summary)
Integrated Support Center for Nuclear Nonproliferation and Nuclear Security (ISCN) has been engaged in policy research studies on nuclear non-proliferation, nuclear security and denuclearization, based on it’s technical knowledge, expertise and experience on nuclear energy, including actual operations of nuclear fuel cycle facilities. In addition, the ISNC also collects, and analyzes information on above areas and disseminate such information to various institutions, including Japanese government.
The researcher requested in this recruitment will (1) investigate and analyze various factors of countries which have achieved denuclearization in the past, from policy perspectives and (2) investigate the technical processes involved in denuclearization. Furthermore, based on his or her knowledge and expertise, the researcher is expected to (3) collect and analyze the latest information on nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear security both at home and abroad, including survey not only on the current negotiation status, but also future prospects of the nuclear non-proliferation / nuclear disarmament related international treaties / agreements which have not yet come into effects.

Commensurate salary with the applicant’s work experience, Social Insurance, Commutation allowance, Institute family residence and bachelor’s dormitory are available.
Terms of employment
Contract term: One year
(The contract term can be extended up to five years upon annual evaluation of research achievements.)
Should you achieve outstanding results during your temporary employment, you could be offered a position as permanent staff.

Qualification requirements
(1) Having Ph D. degree in the field related to the research theme and experiences as a post-doctoral position for more than one year.
(2) Preferable is the applicant who has enough experience on research and analysis on nuclear non-proliferation, nuclear security and denuclearization either (1) on political perspective or (2) on technical perspective.

Points to note
(1) The successful applicant is supposed to submit medical in English certificate taken within 6 months (including height, weight, eyesight, urinalysis, chest X-ray).
(2) The successful applicant without Japanese Nationality is required to obtain a necessary visa status to work in Japan by the date of adoption.
