    1. Available positions

      1 person

    2. Recruitment theme

Research on radiation characteristics inside primary containment vessel and development of nondestructive analysis technology for fuel debris.

      (Summary)
For the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPP (1F), it is important to grasp the fuel debris location and dose rate distribution inside the primary containment vessel of 1F. Furthermore, it is also important to develop the effective detection technology of fuel debris and nondestructive analysis (NDA) technology for nuclear materials. Therefore, reflecting the results of future internal investigations of the PCV and sampling analysis of fuel debris, we increase the prediction accuracy of the dose rate distribution and detector response in the PCV by the help of radiation transport Monte Carlo simulations. In addition, we will carry out the NDA experiment and its simulations aiming at separation between fuel debris and waste, and nuclear material accountancy.
