Theme: Study on multiscale modeling of accident progression
Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) has progressed a R&D project entitled “numerical multi-scale/physics modeling of fuel assembly degradation in severe accident conditions” since JFY-2016. In this research program (from JFY-2016 to JFY-2020), the researcher is expected to improve degradation models and thermodynamic data. Also, the researcher is expected to conduct multiscale modeling with the developing JUPITER code in JAEA.
(This work will be conducted as part of the R&D project on “Numerical multi-scale/physics modeling of fuel assembly degradation in severe accident conditions”, which is supported by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.)

Qualification requirements
Candidates must have a doctoral degree and must have research careers as a researcher more than 1 year. And candidates must have enough knowledge and experimental experience on material science studies of fuel cladding or fuel assembly components.
Terms of employment
(1) Salary: Annual salary system, commensurate with ability and performance
(2) Treatment: Commutation and housing allowances are paid according to employees.
(3) Working Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. ※There is possibility to work over time
(4) Intermission: 12:00pm-13:00pm
(5) Holiday: Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays, year-end holidays, paid holidays
(6) Social Insurance, etc.: Health insurance, welfare pension insurance, corporate pension fund, unemployment insurance, workers accident compensation insurance.
(7) Welfare: Institute family resident and dormitory are available.
(8) Trial employment period: 6 months

Travel Expenses
We will cover your travel expenses in Japan for the recruitment examination in accordance with JAEA travel allowance regulations.

Points to note
(1) Applicants who pass the recruitment examination are supposed to submit medical certificate taken within 6 months (including height, weight, eyesight, urinalysis, chest X-ray).
(2) Candidates without Japanese Nationality are required to have the certificate of eligibility by the date of adoption in order to obtain a work permit in Japan.
