      Research and development of non-destructive assay techniques for nuclear fuels by neutron resonance transmission analysis
      (This research and development will be done with a grant of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology – Japan))

      (Summary)
      It has been expected that development of non-destructive assay techniques to accurately quantify high-dose nuclear materials in nuclear fuels such as spent and melted ones. For the purpose of establishing such techniques, we are seeking a postdoctoral fellow who will engage in the research and development of neutron resonance transmission analysis (NATA) with a D-T neutron generator. Specifically, the fellow will work on the research and developments of analytical methods of a time-of-flight spectrum to quantify nuclear materials and a compact NRTA system that would expand the applicability of NRTA, etc.

      Commensurate salary with the applicant’s work experience, Social Insurance, Commutation allowance, Institute family residence and bachelor’s dormitory are available.

    6. Terms of employment

      Contract term: One year
      The contract term can be extended up to 31 March, 2022 upon annual review of research achievements and the condition of the grant received from MEXT.
      Should you achieve outstanding results during your temporary employment, you could be offered a position as permanent Staff.

    7. Holiday

      Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), National holidays, Year-end holidays, Paid holidays

    8. Qualification requirements

      (1) Having a Ph.D. degree. In principle, work experience as a postdoctoral fellow (at least for one year) is required.

      (2) Preferably having experience on research and development for radiation measurements and computer simulations.

    20. Points to note

      (1) Applicants who pass the Recruitment examination are supposed to submit medical certification.

      (2) Candidates without Japanese nationality are required to have the certificate of eligibility by the date of adoption in order to obtain a work permit in Japan.

    21. Treatment of personal information

      Submitted personal information will be used for recruitment. Personal information of employee will be used for employment control. Other personal information will be scrapped 1 year later.
