    2. Recruitment field

      Research Theme:
Development of visual analytics technologies for multi-dimensional extreme scale data

      (Summary)

Complex CFD simulations such as thermal-hydraulic analysis of complex phenomena in the reactor core at severe accidents and analysis of environmental dynamics of radioactive substance generate extreme scale multivariate data. With increasing space and time resolutions, extreme scale data is generated also in experiments such as radiation measurements, which often require data processing combining multiple measurements based on visible light and laser. In this subject, advanced visual analytics technologies needed for extracting important features from such multi-dimensional extreme scale data will be developed. Examples of specific research topics are as follows.

      • Development of feature extraction technologies based on data science methods such as machine learning, principal component analysis, and sparse modeling.
      • Development of In-Situ data analysis technologies for extreme scale simulations.
      • Development of high performance data processing technologies for accelerators such as GPGPU and many core processors.
