      Development of Multiphase CFD Simulation Technologies on GPU Supercomputers
      Center for Computational Science and e-Systems promotes the development of multiphase CFD simulation technologies for improving nuclear CFD simulations related to the safety evaluation of nuclear reactors, the analysis of complex phenomena in severe accidents, and the design of future nuclear systems. Such nuclear CFD simulations are multi-scale problems involving solid-liquid-gas interfaces, and require high performance computing on GPU supercomputers, multi-scale CFD simulations based on adaptive mesh refinement, visualization technologies for complex and large scale multiphase CFD data, and high fidelity schemes on physics models such as interface tracking, surface tension, and phase changes. In this theme, the applicant is expected to construct multiphase CFD codes on the GPU supercomputer SGI8600 at JAEA, and develop the above multiphase CFD simulation technologies. The applicant is also expected to contribute to the advancement of nuclear CFD simulations at JAEA by using the developed codes.

    5. Qualification requirements

      (1) Having a Ph.D. degree in the field related to the research theme

      (2) Born after April 2, 1981

      (3) Work experience on the development of extreme scale multiphase CFD simulations parallelized using more than one hundred GPUs on GPU supercomputers is desirable.

    6. Terms of employment

      -Starting salary (Dr’s Degree): 258,300yen/month (Result in April, 2020)

      -Pay raise : Once per year.(Performance for last year)
      -Bonus : Twice per year. (Performance for last year)
