Research and development for improving nuclear safety
Research for improving nuclear materials based on the degradation mechanism
In Fuels and Materials Engineering Division, Nuclear Science and Engineering Center, Nuclear Science Research Institute, we are conducting the research on elucidating the mechanism related to aging degradation of materials by corrosion toward the development of high corrosion resistant materials. This research is being carried out as a research and development for improving the safety of nuclear systems.
In order to proceed the above-mentioned research, we are looking for a researcher who have ability to enthusiastically conduct experimental and simulation research. He/she is also required to have sufficient research experience and knowledges in the respective area. In particular, he/she should have research achievement on the corrosion of stainless steel, which is the most major material in nuclear field. Plenty of experience in handling radioactive isotopes used in experiments are also expected.
In addition, for the active promotion of research activities, it is required that experience in acquiring research funds (Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, etc.), as well as enough English ability for scientific and technical discussion in international conference and international cooperation.
