      Materials Test Research Related to the Structural Integrity Assessment of Reactor Coolant Pressure Boundary Components
      For developing evaluation methods related to ageing management technical evaluation and operation life extension on nuclear power plants, research and development based on microstructure analysis, material tests, fracture mechanics analysis to evaluate degradation in the actual or simulated nuclear environments are required. Through
      these analysis and tests, our research group is performing research to improve the prediction method of irradiation embrittlement of reactor pressure vessels, and to verify the conservativeness of the structural integrity assessment method for cracked components.
      The present study concretely conducts microstructure analyses and fracture toughness tests on actual surveillance test specimens, and brittle fracture tests using test equipment capable of applying biaxial load generated under the pressurized thermal shock events in reactor pressure vessels. In addition, the conservativeness of the structural integrity assessment method based on the fracture mechanics is verified by finite element analyses simulating above brittle fracture tests.

    5. Qualification Requirements

      (1) Holding a Ph.D (That in the field associated with nuclear engineering is desirable.)

      (2) Born after April 2, 1981

      * It is desirable that he/she is familiar with microstructure analysis using transmission electron microscope, fracture toughness test, and finite element analysis, etc.

      (1) Place of assignment
      (Domestic) Ibaraki, Fukushima, Chiba, Tokyo, Fukui, Hyogo, Hokkaido, Gifu, Okayama, Aomori
      (Overseas) Washington, Paris, Vienna

      (2) Holidays
      Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), National holidays, Year-end and new-year holidays, Paid holidays, etc.

      Health insurance, Welfare pension insurance, Employee’s pension fund, Unemployment insurance, Workers accident compensation insurance, etc.

      Dormitory for family and singles

      (5) Working hours
      9:00am-5:30pm (overtime work is required in needs)
      *1 According to work place, working hours would differ.
      *2 In some department, shift working is required.
      *3 Flextime system and discretionary work system are adopted partly.

      (6) Salary (For example)
      -Starting salary (Dr’s Degree): 255,400yen/month (Result in April, 2018)
      *Besides, considering years of experience salary is decided according to JAEA’s regulation
      -Allowance: Commutation allowance, Family allowance, House allowance, Research allowance, etc.
      -Pay raise: Once per year. (dependent on performance in the former year)
      -Bonus: Twice per year. (dependent on performance in the former year)
