Call for Nomination for Director of J-PARC Center

J-PARC Center, which is organized by JAEA, Japan Atomic Energy Agency and KEK, High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, invites nomination for the Director whose term will begin on April 1, 2009.

The nominee should be a person of high integrity, having deep insight and broad understanding in educational and research activities and must qualify one or more items as below.

1) The candidate must be a distinguished expert in the fields of nuclear physics, elementary particle physics, materials science or life science.
2) The candidate must have administrative ability and experience to lead the J-PARC Center as a global center of excellence.

The term of the Director is three years, which can be extended up to six years when re-elected. The Director must be under 63 years old when the first term starts.

1. Nomination should be accompanied by
    1) Letter of recommendation
    2) Brief personal history of the candidate
    3) Outstanding research achievements
    4) Reasons for recommendation

2. The nomination should be sent no later than November 25, 2008.
