3 universities and JAEA start a new curriculum with a remote lecture course

JAEA is promoting human resource development on atomic energy as one of main missions. Japan Nuclear Education Network (JNEN) is a new trial in the educational field by cooperation between Kanazawa Univ., Tokyo Institute of Technology, Fukui Univ. and JAEA.
JNEN has started a remote lecture course since April 2007. For the universities, the remote lecture brings advantage receiving distinctive lectures which are not had in oneself. The 1st remote lecture held on April 13. The lecture on foundation of the nuclear-chemistry and radio-chemistry distributed to Kanazawa and Fukui Univ. from Tokyo Institute of Technology, about 50 students of 3 universities took the lecture at each university. Moreover, JNEN plans a practice course for students including experiments with nuclear material handling in this summer. Such activities are complementary to each participating universities and JAEA features, and contribute to human resource development on atomic energy greatly.
