Outline
The Nuclear Researchers Exchange Program was established in 1985 by the Science and Technology Agency, as the aim of promotion cooperation on research and development for the peaceful use of nuclear energy with neighboring countries through receiving nuclear researchers from neighboring Asian countries to Japan and dispatching Japanese researchers to those countries by request, based on the basic thought on the promotion of cooperation with neigh boring countries and the promotion policy decided by the Atomic Energy Commission in December 1984.
The operation of this program is charged by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan from 2001.
Japanese research institute participating in this program are Japan Atomic Energy Agency and Research Institutes connected with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan and domestic universities, these institutes accept researchers and engineers from neighboring Asian countries for three months to one year and perform research and training on nuclear energy.
Also, these institutes dispatch Japanese researchers and engineers to neighboring Asian countries(In principle, one week to two months).
