On August 8th and 9th, 2011, ISCN held a seminar on “Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy” in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, co-hosted by Mongolian Nuclear Energy Agency.

This seminar was held as part of the grant project by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) aiming at strengthening the regimes of nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security in Asian countries in the process of introducing nuclear energy.

The seminar covered various issues including the Fukushima accident, international trends and frameworks of nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security / peaceful use of nuclear energy / safeguards, and domestic regulatory frameworks.
