    2. Recruitment theme

Theme: Experimental study of control rod degradation and development of the degradation model
Japan Atomic Energy Agency has progressed a R&D project entitled "numerical multi-scale/physics modeling of fuel assembly degradation in severe accident conditions" since JFY-2016. To clarify the very early step of the fuel assembly degradation, accumulation of control rod degradation data and development of control rod degradation model are necessary. In this research program, the researcher is expected to carry out experimental studies using a control blade degradation test facility, a fuel assembly component degradation test facility, and a molten corium mixing/phase separation test facility. Also, the researcher is expected to analyze these test samples and to develop control rod degradation models. (This work will be conducted as part of the R&D project on "Numerical multi-scale/physics modeling of fuel assembly degradation in severe accident conditions", which is supported by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.)
