Number of employees
Researcher: 1 person
Recruitment theme
"Combined analysis of core degradation and fission product release and transport"
Release and transport behavior of volatile fission products (FP, in particular Cesium) are evaluated by a combinational analysis of core degradation and FP chemistry. Chemical effects of important elements/materials that can alter the FP chemistry, such as generation of hydrogen and COx gas, release of vapor species of structural/control materials (Corium, Zry, Fe, Si, B, etc.), are investigated. Basic experiments are performed with surrogate materials. Finally a basic methodology for the combined analysis of core degradation and FP release and transport are established.
(This work will be conducted as part of JFY2014 supplementary budget “subsidiary fund for Project of Decommissioning and Contaminated Water Management (Upgrading level of grasping state inside reactor)”)
