JAEA concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with Kazakhstan National Nuclear Center (NNC)May. 7, 2007JAEA has been conducting a cooperative R&D with NNC on safety research for fast breeder reactors under EAGLE and EAGLE-II agreements from the Japanese fiscal year 2000. Mr. Okazaki, president of JAEA, and Dr. Kadyrzhanov, director general of NNC, concluded the Memorandum of Understanding on April 30, 2007, at the prime minister’s office in Astana, Kazakhstan, for exploring possibility the cooperation in such fields as (1)R&D on tritium breeder for fusion reactor, (2)R&D on recycle of beryllium reflector used in research reactors, and (3)other R&D items which will be considered as common interests for future cooperation. |
