Recruitment for a Senior Scientist (a mid-career JAEA Staff)

Oct. 30, 2009

1. Number of employees
Senior Scientist (grade: Deputy General Manager) 1 person

2. Recruitment Field
(1)Research field:
Synchrotron Radiation Research
(2)Research theme:
Studies on magnetism of highly correlated-electron system using third-generation synchrotron radiation
(Summary)
In Electronic Structure Research Group, we have promoted a development of the advanced measurement system of soft X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) installed in the JAEA beam line BL23SU of the 3rd-generation synchrotron radiation facility Spring8, aiming at the elucidation of the magnetism and its related superconducting states in strongly-correlated electron system. JAEA needs a highly qualified researcher, who has an advanced ability to develop the XMCD system based on high performance of the in-vacuum twin-helical undulator newly introduced by the beam line, and also has high research capabilities about the magnetism using the XMCD and the electronic structure. Furthermore, we are planning to assign to a task of the research support for the users on the XMCD application.
At the above theme, we are accepting applications for a Senior Scientist who can create superior research achievements by oneself while assisting a Group Leader and Principal Scientists.
