Recruitment Field (1)Research field: Research &Development for Fast Reactor Cycle Commercialization (2)Research theme Research & Development for Evaluation of Severe Accidents in FBR (Summary) For the development of commercial FBRs, it is necessary to evaluate sequences of severe accidents so that appropriateness of the safety design can be confirmed and obtained knowledge through the evaluation can be reflected into the design. In order to fulfill this objective, simulation models to evaluate response of the reactor core and the main heat transfer system during the severe accident, are to be developed, validated and applied to the reactor cases for evaluation of the safety characteristics. Model development and validation should be realized through experiment analyses with simulation technology of heat transfer and fluid dynamics. 3.
