At first, we would like to express sincere sympathy for the people affected by the earthquake in northeastern Japan.
We are very sorry that JAEA has been forced to close its web site for a few days due to the earthquake. Now we have resumed the web site using emergency apparatus.
JAEA has checked all the own facilities. There have been no effects on the environment, no fire accidents and no serious injury in the sites of JAEA until now, although there have been some damages to the facilities and equipment. JAEA also is supporting emergency activities for the Fukushima No.1 and No. 2 Nuclear Power Plants with utmost effort upon request from the Government.
